Dahlia Lithwick, Slate's Conlaw reporter and a Stanford Law grad, is, for my two cents, the best Conlaw commentator in the land. Linda Greenhouse of the New York Times is the other best. One uses humor and the other seriousness to get the main points across. I think you need both to complete the picture.
Below is Dahlia's commentary on today's argument before the Court as to whether the Second Amendment, which talks about militias and bears, permits you to protect yourself with a gun as a matter of personal right, or whether you have to sign up for the militial before you can shoot the neighbor's kid who happens to be burglarizing your garage or bedroom. An individual right vs. a collective right. And if it's individual, what about all those gun control laws.
